Oh my goodness, it is currently 6.02 pm ( it will be about an hour later when I finish typing this post) and we have been on the go since early morning and out at the shop, well the rotunda near the shop since just after 7am this morning! Why??...because we are crazy..that and we were having the tea party to end all tea parties as a fund-raiser for National Breast Cancer Foundation. Co-ordinated by Trish K (shabby rose on side bar), Lilly Cottage and the most amazing team of helpers ( Leanne, Mary-Anne, Monica,Kathy)we supplied the best pink ribbon tea ever!! We cooked and brewed and iced and filled with cream and added sprinkles, we matched china cups, invented tea cup sugar bowls and special cream bowls and it was amazing!! We are all very tired little Vegemite's now, completely and utterly exhausted..but happy.
The event raised over $400 for the Breast Cancer Foundation and lots of wonderful people donated prizes for the raffles. Ladies came dressed in pink, with hats and high heels and gorgeous handbags that came in useful in the handbag scavenger hunt! A storm was forecast but the weather was gorgeous, but very very hot, poor Mary-anne got really sun-burnt and she was such a little trooper scurrying back and forth with juice, milk, tea, coffee, you name it. The lovely Leanne was a star, setting up cake plates and brewing more pots of tea than she has ever done in her life, I am sure!
The lovely Marilyn brought a group of her best friends and treated them to an amazing little gift bag each and also donated a wonderful pink bucket full of pink goodies for the raffle .Don't these two just look the part at their special tea table!
Maria and Jan worked like Trojans and I am sure there will be a few sore muscles tomorrow, they carried chairs and tables and what seemed like hundreds of tea cups, what wonderful Mothers they are!! No photos of them here though, We worked them too hard to be seen in any of these photos. Laura and I are in these photos somewhere...I 'll give you a hint we are wearing pink!! lol I must admit the top photo was taken by the newspaper and one of the ladies in the photo is Trish, you will have to go to her blog to see which one she is! The next photo is some spectacular helpers including one of us, they didn't know this photo was being taken, so don't yell at me girls!! Thanks for wearing the cupcake apron Mary-anne.
These really attractive bessa? bricks are so the gazebos didn't take off and blow away in a big gust of wind, that wouldn't have been fun!!
What a wonderful setting we have, some days it is just good to be alive!! Don't forget to check your girls girls!! Great big leftover cupcake kisses TTFN KN Linda Lilly Cottage.
