Wow what an absolutely huge day of collecting today, we started early and the day was a little crisp to begin with but soon warmed up to the most  gorgeous day in Nambour.

There were not a lot of real treasures at bargain prices to be found but then half the fun is trying to unearth that one tea cup that takes your breath away with it's beauty and not the price.

There were hundreds of stalls but this stall had to be my favourite.  I did not buy a thing there as it was way beyond my price range ( you can see on the tags what I mean) but oh my goodness it was beyond gorgeous! I did ask if I could take these photos and although they thought it a strange request (obviously never met a blogger before and I didn't try to explain it) they were happy for me to snap away, I could have taken so many more photos but here are lots of them so you can dream and drool too!

The girl in the cream was my most favourite french boudoir doll but at $275 she was too expensive, she had the most divine black lace boots but I think the owner was wondering if I was ever going to stop taking photos...it was fun..remember this was ONE stall, so many more pretties around. 

This one stall though did make my little half doll purchase the day before so much more special...she was 50 cents and had had her neck broken and badly repaired  which I was able to tidy up a little, here is a little sneak peek of her in her photo shoot..

Focus on the birdy!

I have been making a few new birds for the shop and the polka dotted creation was the first one to make it out to Lilly Cottage.  I have a very handy little camera which I have just discovered is very good at focusing on the foreground. 

Arty sort of pictures aren't they, lots of colour and pattern and the birdy is the only one in focus!

Collectorama, vintage lace and denim cuffs and Tawny, quirky Owls!

Hello, what a busy week so far...thanks for the snuggle/cuddle bunny love, guess what they are nearly all gone again, must get Beverly knitting again!

Not a great deal of big sewing has been happening at my place as my hands still refuse to cut in a straight line, but I have done lots of little sewing and they are lovely...

OH before I go on, as I do like to go on, Collectorama, the best collectors fair araound as far as I am concerned is on this Saturday, 8am to 2pm at the Nambour Showgrounds.  I shall be there hunting and gathering so if you see me come and say hello.  If you open this post up to the home blog page the little widgety thing should come up and show you the sort of things I have collectoramaed before...love love love it!

Must be time for a pretty picture, these are some of the wrist cuffs made of denim and vintage lace, bridal trims, buttons and trinkets that I have in my stash. ( Collectorama is also really good to restock all those bits too). I have been making these for a while and the plain button ones are popular with kids and adults alike but these ones are so much fun to make...I love a bit of tiss and glisten.

 

I have made these adult size.....and most of them to fit me...hehehehe... click on the photos to make them bigger to see the detail.

 

 

 

I also have some denim hearts I am working on that I can't wait to finish.  These cuffs are at Lilly Cottage as I type.

Now Owls...love love love owls for some strange reason and these new owls we have in the shop as of today ( Thursday) are so quirky and quaint, I aodre them.

 

 

They seem to have taken up roost all over the place....

Snuggle bunnies back in stock!

These gorgeous creatures knitted for us by the lovely Beverly are never on the shelves for very long at Lilly Cottage.  They are made of the softest softest wool and they are meant for a baby to snuggle up to can be washed after they have been slobbered on too often...soo cute my 7,9 and 11 year olds want one well the 9 year old doesn't really he's a boy..but I would like one and I am way older that them!

And look at their cute cuddly little bodies, great baby shower or new baby gift ( old babies can get gifts too).

Handmade Bears and Vintage wares

Besides being two of my favourite things there are some lovely people around the markets at Old Petrie Town who bring such goodies to sell under the trees on Sundays. As soon as Lilly Cottage is set up, off I trott to see what lovelies are around as each week is different. 

 This week I remembered my camera..yay and was able to get some lovely photos and some lovely things from the lovely Julie and the lovely Pam.

Now they shared a stall space and mixed some things in together which I love....a jumble of old and curious and handmade and repurposed...look at these lovely things and just imagine you were there with me.

OK so they weren't quite set up but that didn't stop me, oh no, must take more pictures....

Oops I appear to have caught the lovely Pam mid pout....

These are her beautiful creations, OK the prim doll is not really beautiful....well to me anyway....but the bear on the right is sooo elegant, I think that is why I love their things so much, they are eclectic!

 

 

 

 

 

Looking back at these photos I see so many things that I think I really must have but these two birdies on their old springs are my favourites...I hope they will be back again next week...

New Designer stock at Lilly Cottage.

We have lots of new gorgeous things in at Lilly Cottage, lots of flowers and other goodies which I will share later, but the most gorgeous little things we have in are by a talented new crafter who mistakenly goes by the blog name of icantsew creations which I think is a big fat fib! I had seen Roseys gorgeous creations on her blog and asked her if she would make me 10 little Bubushka and Kokeshi doll brooches to put on consignment at Lilly Cottage.

When she brought them in on Sunday, they were absolutely the sweetest things that I bought them off her straight away.  I don't think we will have any problem selling them, other than I think my children will be claiming one each and no doubt all of a sudden we will be seeing lots of birthday party invitations that will just 'need' one of those brooches for the present....clever children my children!

So here are the girls before they debuted out in the shop...cute or what?

 

 

 

Three little maids from school?

Whilst Rosey was visiting the rest of Old Petrie Town, I attached her sweet tiny brooches to her cards and put them out in the shop.  When she and her gorgeous girls and husband came back it was so wonderful to hear the girls squeal out everytime they saw one of Mums Babushkas.

Here is what they look like out in the ship to give you an idea of just how tiny and detailed they really are.

Just for a change ( huh) I re-arranged again today, we had more new stock and my paintings were back from the Ipswich show and had to be hung up, so why not re-arrange the whole shop I say.  I did the childrens section just in time for the cutest little customer ever and just had to take a photo...cute don't you think?

Now you see it, now you don't.

Here are some, ok well lots of photos from the display at Lilly Cottage on Sunday.  Of course it looks nothing like that now, some pieces sold and I changed the display around before I left on Sunday, we had new stock on Friday, new stock Monday and my paintings have returned from the show so they will go back up later in the week.

As I said to all those lovely ladies on the weekend, if you see anything in the photos that simply calls your name and you would like to know the size or price, email me or leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can, most things are postable ( is that a word?).

Crazy patchwork post of this and that, like I promised.

Hello! First thing, I am really loving Twitter it is so good to be able to write the exact thing I am thinking of at any given thinking moment! This post is probably a whole heap of Twitter posts put together but with pretty pictures and more than 140 characters ( goodness that is hard to do sometimes!). Second, as I said in one of my previous posts the wonderful ladies of The Handmade Expo have been working like women possessed at The Ipswich Show promoting handmade and their own expos ( you can read all about the upcoming ones on their blog just click link).

I sent my first batch of paintings and cushions and bunting down on Wednesday and the show opened Thursday 9am. At 11.30am Liesa from The Handmade Expo  phoned me to tell me they had sold 4 of my larger paintings!! Woohoo, what a wonderful effort that was! We ended up driving down to Ipswich Thursday night with some of the larger ones from the shop where there was a queue of people waiting to see what else I brought!! I of course did the artistic thing and hid while they flicked through my paintings which were much bigger and more expensive than the first lot. They weren't however what they were looking for as would you believe it they wanted more pink!!  Still I am ecstatic that day 1 was so wonderful and as i type the show has wound down for this year and my darling husband will drive out to collect whatever is left in the morning.  Perhaps I have found my niche? 

 

This little guy is one of my favourite little paintings I sent down.

What is probably three weeks ago now the lovely Kris from Tag Along Teddies collected her friend Lynette and came to visit me at Lilly Cottage. 

We had a lovely morning chatting under the shade of the tree at the front of the shop.  That was until a magpie decided to give me some good luck by pooping on me.  I still fail to see how that is good luck except for the people around you who don't get pooped on.  I also would like to know what is in bird droppings....it is so hard to get off your clothes, lucky ( yes there is the luck) my shirt was patterned!

And here she is with the lovely Lynette!  I hope they come back to visit soon and I might let them visit the other shops next time!

 

This lovely award above is the Renee Award that was started as an award for a lady who spread her friendship like acorns which in turn grew to spread more acorns....this sweet award was given to me some time back by the lovely Rosey from Agapanthus and Goldsworthy Thank you Rosey you are a very special lady yourself so I will send this right back at you...oh is that like throwing acorns rather than spreading them?
