Again, a strange combination but true. Farmers markets are on again this Saturday at Old Petrie Town Dayboro Road Kurwongbah (near Petrie northside of Brisbane on your way to Dayboro). They start at 6am when it is nice and cool and continue until 1pm.
Just thought I would share two of the amazingly talented stallholders there are at the Markets ( both are really close to Lilly Cottage but the cupcakes are RIGHT NEXT DOOR)...VERY DANGEROUS!
Now this is my lovely daughter number 3 with the cupcake she choose for her birthday...Cookie Monster.
and because it was her birthday she got to stand behind the cupcakes...yum!
These amazing and delicious creations are by Elise Strachan from Cupcake Addiction you can find her here www.cupcakeaddiction.com.au if you can't make it to the markets or would like to have a special order...just look at all these lovelies...
From one talented artist to another talented artist in a completely different field.
Lee Carter is a pastel artist and her pictures need to be seen to be believed! The look like photographs and she does it all from memory and best of all is drawing on site! Here is her website....she specialises in African Wildlife and The Big Cats of the World....her elephants are so lovely ( I have a bit of a thing for elephants). Her website is here www.leecarter.com.au Here is a shot of her in action...amazing! Again she is at Old Petrie Town with the Farmers Markets on Saturday.
Oh it appears that Typepad doesn't want me to put those photos on this post again, so you will see Lee's work tomorrow...
Here's hoping the photos load on this post, from last Fridays Twilight market at Old Petrie Town.
Well i got this far before the screen froze so I will stop here and hope you enjoy lovely Roseys pretties...she will be back at Lilly Cottage on Saturday morning with her gorgeous goodies, so do make sure you pop in and say hello...
Now since I have been out of action so much of the last few months, my Mother has been holding fort at Lilly Cottage during the week but on the weekends (especially now there are Farmers Markets ther on Saturday morning from 6am) she needs some help, my darling husband is often there...that would be the DH I refer to if you were wondering what that meant...nothing horrible I assure you..and when he needs a little break the lovely Rosey of Agapanthus and Goldsworthy and Itty-Bitty and Pretty (formerly I Cant Sew Creations) will pop in and wrap and tidy and be her lovely charming self which is an absolute pleasure and wonderful help.
Now she is formerely i cant sew creations as she has learnt to sew!! Yes she has been a blogging/crafting journey that has seen her make her own softies using a One Red Robin Pattern...will link that later for you here is the little linky to her fabulous blog One Red Robin ...sewn little babushkas and made sweet little brooches and lovely little lavender birdies and hears...all hand sewn...now she has mastered the sewing machine and there is no stopping her.
Her next goal is to have a market stall of her own, she already has her own Etsy and Madeit stores ( which you can get to via her blog). Whilst she is stock building I have invited her to have her own little corner of Lilly Cottage when she comes to help and look how gorgeous it is! Friday night was her first 'play'date and despite the fact she told me off for being a distraction and she didn't sell out in the first 3 hours..she had a good night.
I swear Typepad and I are having a disagreement today, this is the 4th time I am writing this as it has frozen on me, it must not like the photos, I will persist but if it keeps doing this, I will do two parts of this post.
Two parts it is...see you in a little while, Kiss Noises Linda
Once of the best bits about moving house is the chance to decorate an entire new space. Now I know I get to re-decorate Lilly Cottage at least twice a week but home is different and The Beach Style is even better....lots of lovely blues...
First I had to gather supplies.
Of course collecting supplies is never a chore and I do tend to collect way more than I need.
Next step is to arrange the bits and pieces in a pleasing order...mix it all in together..vintage, new, handcrafted....delicious!
The lovely Marjon from Lady Bug Giftware creates these pip berry wreaths and I am thinking I need a Christmassy coloured one too...so lovely this one is for all year!
So that is a little bit of my decorating, thanks for coming on the little tour with me, I shall share some more later...until then.....
I know it is really annoying when people apologise for not having posted for a while but so sorry about the gap in between posts, time has flown this week! I think all that moving is catching up on me. As you may or may not know there are big changes happening around me at the moment which I will not bore you with but this week just gone has seen family birthdays and the children changing schools...busy busy! I have finally located my roses and vintage seam binding ( along with my favourite CD's and the denim for my cuff bracelets), in a box marked non-urgent craft things for garage???? What was I thinking it should have read ' very important things must put in craft room ASAP' It would have saved lots of box shifting in this hideous heat we are having.
I have started a home blog too if you want to come and visit and read about my 'seachange' adventures it is over HERE . Now onto some pictures of the displays at Lilly Cottage in the last few weeks.
Oh that was a very short post, back later with some more photos, I wonder where the hours in the day go sometimes....
I have seen other peoples blogs and the incidental, accidental hearts they find along the way and it is true if your do look hard enough you will find them everywhere. I did think that this one was very very intricate though...it does look like a heart doesn't it?
I think it was really pretty, as was this coral that had washed up...it was lovely so I took some photos and let it go back into the ocean to help feed the little fishes and the like.
What have you discovered in your wanderings today?
OK these pictures are from the Christmas in Cleveland Market I did a few weeks ago, I am a little behind on my posts sorry...you will be happy to know though that today I found my clothes and underwear...yahoo...I did have some clothes and underwear already, I wasn't walking around unpacking in the alltogether Kris, that would just be wrong wrong wrong, it was just I was using the same three sets of clothes I kept out when we were packing up house three weeks ago....anyhoo here are some pretty pictures to look at....
If only I could spend all day lying on the beach looking at this view and reading my favourite magazines...oh well just have to make do with every second day instead....after the unpacking is finshed of course..
Two days of gorgeous handmade arts and crafts at Cleveland.

Hi and thank you for visiting.
My name is Linda and I live on a sunny tropical island in Queensland Australia.
This blog used to be called Lilly Cottage and within its archives you will find many many posts about my gorgeous little cottage shop that was at Old Petrie Town.
I had a shop there with my friend Laura for over four years though had to close it due to my nasty MS.
Now I am sea changing, creating and loving life at a slightly slower pace ( I said slightly).
Enjoy my blog. Kiss Noises Linda
