Such good English I know but the 'Betty bought a bit of butter, but she found the butter bitter so she bought a bit of better butter to make the bitter butter better' rhyme was going through my head.....and now it is going through yours...sorry about that.
Anyhoo today I had the great honor of doing a guest post over at Kerryanne's Shabby Art Boutique for her Simply Christmas Handmade Special and I sort of kind of mentioned I would do a bunting tutorial. Well I am really not that organised when it comes to organised instructions...I am a kinda fly by the seat of my pants gal, you know moment to moment...Oh how I wished I looked like Julia Roberts...well what I mean to say is I sort of wing it, make bunting my own way, of course I will show you my way but if you want a great tutorial for anything really go to Whip Up net...click right here for their bunting tutorial Bunting Tutorial at Whipup.net.
First gather up your favourite old napkins or serviettes in colours that please you and some cotton twill tape.
Sew the linens onto the tape (removing pins as you go).
Once you have sewn all the linens on, go back to the start of your bunting and fold the tape over in half (so it covers the top of your linens). Pin this down then sew as before.
Add a little bit of vintage seam binding of ribbon inbetween each flag and then hang it up to enjoy it.
I have one lot inside my living room and one outside...I love the patterns on these dainty pieces. You might have to click on the smaller photos to get a better look.
I hope you have a truly scrumptious day and as I am feeling a little generous if you would like to leave a comment on this post I will give away one of my vintage linen bunting strands on 4th December...so you have a little while to leave a comment.
