I know I have been blabbing about other things for too long...need some creativity.  This is what I have been doing in the last couple of weeks...painting!! One sleepy pink polka dotted Owl.

When Wednesday??

A little late in the day for my When Wednesday question....but it is still Wednesday.

When .......was the last time you cried at a movie ( and what was it)??

Now I can't really answer this as I cry at the drop of a hat, at commercials, at sweet cards...at everything and I do try and avoid movies that I know will turn me into a blubbing mess...I haven't seen Titanic and not likely to either, I know how it ends!

I do remember probably my biggest tear fest at, during and for about 2 hours afterwards was 'Mr Holland's Opus' ....it had so many different types of crying...happy, sad, sadder, happy again I was a mess!! Of course Beaches did that to me as well, don't know what I was thinking going to see that, I was young and stupid to go out in public and see such a tear jerker!!

I look forward to hearing what made you cry.

My wonderful fat book full of wonderfully talented artists arrived on Friday in time for Valentines day....yahoo!!! I have done a huge post ( get you cup of tea or coffee ready)....over on the Lilly Cottage Blog  it is just so wonderful.

When? Wednesday.

As i found wordless wednesday too hard to do....anyone who knows me would know that, and I changed mine to Mary Monday I thought I would put my new category here...When? Wednesday when I shall ask a question  just to make us think and I would love to hear your answers.

Here we go, the first when.....

When was the last time....you picked flowers?

Was it in your childhood or frangipani flowers from the neighbours tree on your morning walk. Did you  ever have gorgeous blooms in your yard to choose from....or a field or parkland nearby.

I think the last time I picked flowers was the jasmine that grows over the entrance to the public toilet behind Lilly Cottage. I love it and when it is in full bloom, being careful of bees, I pick some and take it into Lilly Cottage, I don't think Laura and Maria like it however as it is always in the bin or has disappeared the next day.  I have even put it on the dashboard of the car and it is nice at least for the drive home!

Sailing away on vintage music sheet sails.

Well I couldn't do it, the brown was too well...brown...I painted away for hours on Saturday night ( as one does) and really didn't like what I had done.

This is the painting in progress..

 

 

This is where I was up to before my Saturday night painting vigil.  I didn't remember to take a photograph before I decided to go with my very first idea for this painting, collaging vintage music sheets on as sails.

 My girls told me that the stuck on bits looked good but they needed to be all one colour.

After I collaged I jumped in and got to work with my oil pastels and even now a couple of days later...I like it.....a visiting friend told me today she thought the sails were a bit wrong but I told her it was an abstract. I love the way the ocean looks a bit misty and magical..well it does to me.

 

 

 

So there it is the birthday painting for my brother with vintage music sheet sails and wispy magical ocean and a sky I think is perfect but the friend thinks is a weird colour. Do you have anything nice to say??
