I do I really do, I live on an Island in Queensland, you have to drive over a bridge from the mainland to get here and it is the most magical part of coming or going from the Island. There is quite a drive through gum trees, strawberry farms and service (petrol) stations to get to the bridge and we all sit on the edge of our seats as we approach the bridge to see you can yell out I SEE THE BRIDGE first. Once you see the bridge everything is wonderful. Thus the name of the blog!
We have been here two weeks and there is still a mountain of boxes to be gone through and unpacked. I had envisioned all shabby white furniture and minimalistic displays through the house ala beach cottage but the house has spoken and our timber furniture looks great just the way it is....weird how things sometimes work out.
I can't wait to get the pictures up on the walls and all my art supplies out ready and waiting for me to play. Meanwhile the children are still going to their old school 45minutes drive away as we figured it was only a few weeks to the end of the year...yeah right....all that driving is so exhausting, especially when there is a school two minutes away from the house we are in now. Will have to work on that one I think.
My constant complaint as I am lost in a mountain of bubble wrap and butchers paper is that I haven't had any fun yet. This weekend was different however and I got to do some great marketing with a wonderful market on the Island. Such lovely things and such a beautiful spot right on the foreshore.
I bought the best art journal made out of recycled Golden Book by a great mixed media artist Sarah Gibson if you visit her blog you can see some of her other work...love it all!
Plus we went to the beach! Yeah! Down side...Middle Child fell down a hill and broke his wrist....it was really funny as he was covered in leaves but he somehow didn't see the funny side then, he is quite proud of his plaser now though I think ( that was until her realised he couldn't go swimming).
Or climb a tree with his sisters....monkeys that they are.
The sunset is simply glorious and people everywhere stop to watch the sun go down...
Each picture I took was different as the sun got lower and lower. Hereare some of my favourite shots.
Aaahhh how relaxing, now all I need is some Champagne....
