Finally my Darling Husband ( and sewing machinist extraordinaire..who knew?) and I made the drive out to Handmade Heaven at Ipswich and Mimmis at Forest Lake.
I hadn't been to see the shops for a restock for some time so it was well over due. It was over 5 hours of actually driving and a lot of chatting time inbetween...a long but enjoyable day.
I must say though we got a little lost on the way from Handmade Heaven in Ipswich and I had to call Miriam and ask for directions. We were in this little place called Walloon...which I had never heard of before and she directed us the right way to her little piece of Heaven. This little story is only relevant however as I was reading the Police report for road closures for the Royal visit and where the best place would be to see the Royals and apparently one of the very few was Walloon Civic Centre....I was there 2 days before the Royal visit..see I go to all the good places first!
Anyhoo here are some of the very quick and not very good pictures I took of some of my goodies at Handmade Heaven and Mimmis. the owl boxes have been very popular and one day later they are all gone..must get darling husband sewing upon his return from The Handmade Expo...or perhaps I will let him rest seeing as he was washed out...more rain, we don't really need.
It seems bunnies and owls are very popular at the moment...they are fun to make so I am happy.
If you do see anything you like though, please send me an email ( on sidebar) or leave a comment here and I will do my best to help you.
Those lovely chenille cushions are by Miriam aka Bubba Chenille and Mimmi herself. swoon!
Hope you have a wonderful day,
Kiss Noises Linda
What gorgeous fabric and beautiful items! I have made some bunnies too recently and I accidentally made an owl although I was aiming for a chicken! I love those colours and I am also loving the chenille! I am still getting over your hubby sewing! He is fantastic! Mine wouldn't have a clue!
I just loved meeting you today, wasn't lunch just Plain Gorgeous! I was so delighted to meet you all and it did feel like a wonderful mini holiday! I think it felt more like it for me because of the drive, it was a mini escape! I am going to really enjoy looking back through your posts! I am also looking forward to your pics! X
