A Weekend of Window Shopping.

It occurred to me, that we haven't shown you any ' what's in the window today'  photos for a while so this weekend I plan to do multiple posts with pictures of the goodies on display at Lilly Cottage. As the weather has been atrocious this week, it seems a perfect opportunity to stay indoors and window shop in blogsville.

If you do see anything you can't live without please contact me or leave a comment at the bottom of the page and I will do my best to find the prices etc....I will try not to do too much 'talking' this weekend. Seeing as it is a wet Friday, we may as well start now.

You can see the raindrops drip drip dripping on the other side of the window, but that is OK because all the pretty things are on this side of the window. Enjoy todays window shopping there will be more to look at during the weekend...oh and some more bunnies available too!

Collectorama treasures

The first Collectorama fair  for the year at the Nambour showgrounds is always fabulous...well actually they are all fabulous but the first one of the year seems so much more exciting  I think.

Well I managed to get there despite it being Miss 14s birthday and the fact she really didn't want to be there and the fact we had to race back to open the doors of Lilly Cottage Bribie Island and the slight problem I had of not being too steady on my feet ( silly old MS), I did get there and managed to find some wonderful treasures.

I am sure I could spend all day there collecting and chatting and sipping tea, if only I had more stamina! Of course DH was on hand to fetch and carry my goodies and I was very good and didn't buy any big chairs, school desks or surfboards this time, just ' smalls' as they say.

Speaking of 'smalls' of the collecting variety not the underwear variety...I am addicted to watching American Pickers.....not sure I could do that, rather too much dirt and scary sheds that might have mice in them...but I love watching them and the thrill of the find...then the other night I came across another show...oh and I cna't remember what it was called but there were two gorgeous girls and they were 'picking' with their own great big trailer towed behind them and their picking was a little different, they were picking pieces to be created into functional works of art....I don't know whether I loved the pieces they created entirely but I loved that show too....hopefully will get to see that one again. In the meantime I will just do my own little picking outings finding pieces to turn into my own artworks..if you call bunting and pillows art work..hehe.

Some of these beauties are destined to become cushions...love the cats piece.

Thank you all for the bunny love last post, I have been making bunnies in my sleep just about, they are cuter to watch than counting sheep I suppose. I will let you know when the next batch are ready for adoption.

The birth of a shabby bunny.

Actually it is more than one bunny...I was on a roll and Easter is only a hop step away and I love Easter so felt the need to create some little bunnies..right now.

 

I love how they turned out, their soft shabby colours, their vintage doiley and ribbon and their cute little faces....that was fun, each one is completely different though I did  the same thing each time.

Some of these have headed to Lilly Cottage Old Petrie Town for Sunday trading tomorrow and the others are floating around here for the weekend before they go to Lilly Cottage Bribie Island.

I have an entire display in my head but unfortunately am still too unwell to put in my usual days work so have been grounded to home for a week or so.... and that display will be wonderful when I get there.

I am also going to start popping some of these into my etsy store when I get a little more computer time....I think I need a couple of clones though.

So here is a sneak peek of my shabby little bunnies...let me know what you think?

Ants and Buttons on display.

 ***Apologies for the images in this post, I am having no ends of problems driving my blog this week and I figured they were better off up as they are than not at all. Will be playing blog post catch up for a while to get me up to date..kiss noises Linda****

Sometimes it is the little things that make life special. Take ants and buttons for example, they are both little things but in the hands of talented designers and artisans they are amazing new creations in stock at Lilly Cottage Bribie Island.

 

Now I have had these on display for a few weeks and haven’t had a chance to post about them (what with hospital admissions and a mobile modem that wouldn’t register and let me onto my laptop), so I have to say that these displays have been rearranged and restocked a few times as they have been so well received by our visitors to the shop.

 

My Marching Ants is the brainchild of Jas Pearson and this lady is one talented artist…her lovely little ants adorn cards, prints, magnets, gift cards and stationery and are soo sweet. Jas has designed an ant or ant family for almost every occasion, baby ants, biker ants, scrapbooking ants, stitching ants, and fairy ants…the list goes on and on. Her prints can be personalised with your child’s (or best friends) name and all of her work is hand glittered for that extra special touch.

 Addicted to Buttons is the buttony business of Kylie and after wearing one of her necklaces ( to death I must say) in the shop and getting so many lovely comments about it I just had to stock them in my shop. Her designs are bright and fun and so striking that you cannot help but feel the same way when you are wearing them. Her little button earrings have been so popular at Bribie I think we may have started a new trend at the high school, my girls adore them ( as does my son…well he says he does I think he just didn’t want to feel left out).

 

I love the hybrid necklaces and this orange one goes so well with my bag and brooches in this little display (oh oops bag has sold now).

It is a great pleasure to be able to stock the creative talents of these ladies and of the work of Shabby English Rose and La Panier Baskets as well. I am forever on the lookout for products that make you smile or make you feel special at the very least and am looking forward to showcasing some more talented artisans in the weeks to come.
