NOw those of you that know me well will know that I am not talking about camping...don't get me wrong I like to sleep under the stars...as long as there are five of them (*****), I am just not a camping person, but I did love the idea of taking our new to us cast iron bed to the beach to do a quick photo shoot the other day. I needed to photograph some throws and the bed was still in the car so off we went.
Can I tell you honestly, it was the best way to spend an afternoon as so many people stopped and talked to us and it was fantastic that there were people around who really loved the idea we had done such an out of the ordinary thing..one lovely lady broke the land speed record I think, running back to her house to get a new battery for her camera that died at an inopportune moment, the moment when someone puts a bed on the beach...well it was really on the foreshore on the grass before the beach but it was close enough.
If I had of planned this shoot, it would have been at full tide, or a little sunier or actually on the sand but for now I love these photos, it was windy, the sun was setting and we were playing with throws, pillows and bunting. Poor darling husband is such a trouper, at one point he was even crouched behind the bed holding the edges of the throw so it didn't blow away, while I snapped a photo or ten.
This bed is destined for the Bribie Lilly Cottage but I am thinking it might need a few outings before then..beack to the beach, to the park, who knows..there were even whispers of a Lavender farm somewhere...eeekk, how wonderful.
The patchwork throws that we were taking photos of, are a brilliant buy at $60 for a 150cm by 150cm cotton throw and a matching cushion cover..such pretty fabrics, I think I am lucky to have got these photos as they really won't be around long...might be found at my place though if you are looking, lol.
I love the bunting and the string of hearts in all the different lights as well..just as well I don't have an old fashioned camera any more, I think I would ahve gone through 3 rolls of film..
I can't wait to take some goodies for an outing soon, this time of year the weather has been playing nicely..if only it stayed like this with showers of rain during the night, I would be a happy girl ( well at least as far as the weather goes, lol).
Kiss Noises Linda
