Oh dear, I have been a neglectful blog writer...I haven't stopped thinking about it but somehow the time to sit down and just type slips away too quickly. Well lets face it the days are slipping away too quickly everywhere and as I have often said, sleep simply gets in the way.
As is 'normal' for Lilly Cottage, September, October and early November are frantically busy months as we attend some of our favourite markets in South East Queensland. Uusually these markets are ones that are Annual or Biannual and the start of the Christmas market season for us.
We are lucky enough to be a stall holder at the Craft Extravaganza that is held around Mothers day and in early October at Mt Tamborine ( these ones have already been and gone) and now a mere two days away we are frantically sewing to replenish stock for Christmas in Cleveland...another annual event/market weekend. These markets are 'unique' in their style in that when you go to one, (they are always in a hall) you go around from stall to stall choosing what items you would like and then when you have selected all that you want, you go through a central checkout point.
We all have our own stalls..we set them up individually and all the stall holders make their own items, price them and code them...it makes for a fun way to shop I think.
Christmas in the Country at Gatton is another market/event that happens in early November each year where you can shop exactly the same way as above. This market opens on a Thursday night and runs Friday and Saturday only...and as luck ( hahum) would have it, this year it follows 3 days after the Christmas in Cleveland event....so I really need to stock up...now.
I have other fantabulous market news too which I will share with you later..it is very exciting and needs it's own post...for now I should be getting back to my sewing so I can replenish some of these things...these photos are all from my latest market at Tamborine, the light there was a strange colour and made everything look slightly off cream and the purple/blues jump out at you, but you get the general idea.
Hopefully you will get out to visit one of these two events ( if not both) in the next week...eeek I haven't given you much time have I?..If you are looking for me I am under a pile of suffolk puffs, vintage linens and fabric scraps.
