So much has happened over the last few months it is going to be hard to play catch up on my poor neglected blog.
First of all a very Happy New Year to you all, 2013 is going to be a fabulous year for everyone this year..at least that is what is what I am wishing for.
Lilly Cottage Bribie Island is still going strong and we have been rearranging and sewing and adding in new stock as fast as we can.
The end of 2012 was a flurry of Christmas markets that started in October and finished on the 24th December and as they were all markets that were for handmade items only everyone has been on deck, cutting sewing, ironing, pricing and displaying and our cast iron beds have been doing the market circuit with us too as they are fabulous for displaying our cushions and bunting.

Our biggest market news is that Tim and I have become the new market co-ordinators for The Handmade Expo Market – Morayfield which is an additional market location for The Handmade Expo Market team which is in their 4th fabulous year at their Ipswich/Bundamba market site. Morayfield is one of four new locations, the other 2 that have been revealed are venues at Kingaroy and Redlands ( Capalaba).
Our first market at Morayfield was on Sunday the 2nd of Decmber and with over 110 stalls the Morayfield Leisure Centre was full to the brim with fabulous creativity. The Leisure Centre is a completely indoor facility and even despite the huge fans they have for this complex it was a very hot day ( as much as I tried to I could not control the weather, ). The quality of the variety of the stalls was amazing and we are hoping to repeat this fabulous turnout every month as we become a monthly event on the First Sunday of the Month at the Morayfield Leisure Centre.
If you would like to be a part of this great market you can email us at email [email protected] or check out the Website www.thehandmadeexpo.com.au

.
Our other major event/news is that our gorgeous little cottage at Old Petrie Town has been sold and Lilly Cottage has now moved out of this location. It is a long story and we could have reapplied to go back into this cottage under the new management but we have chosen to put all our energies into our Bribie Island store and of course The Handmade Expo. It was incredibly sad leaving Old Petrie Town and bar for a 8 month break we have been part of the Old Petrie Town experience for the past 9 years, 7 of them in sweet little cottages as Lilly Cottage.

Once we have sorted out all our shop fittings and manage to fit all our stock into one shop at Bribie we will be looking at opening this shop on Sundays at well, so you will have a perfect weekend destination..beautiful Bribie Island and Lilly Cottage.

Of course that may take a couple of weeks to get finished as we are enjoying school holidays with the children ( who are growing up way too fast) and are taking lots of car journeys and discovering some amazing places in Australia, we really do live in a beautiful part of the world. I have lots to share about that too!
Last year went by so quickly and I do take a little bit of comfort in the fact that I am not the only one who thinks it did. I just haven’t been able to catch up with my bloggy friends either online or in person as much as I would have liked to, so that is a big plan (some might call it resolution) for this year. More bloggy catching up!

I also intend to put many more pictures on my blog…before I put them on Facebook….well that is my plan, Facebook is just so instant and really there is no reason I can’t put them at the same time.
Oops well there goes my quiet time for writing this blog post, children are asking me questions and chattering amongst themselves and I can’t concentrate… do you need to write your blog posts in absolute quiet? It is very hard now they have started staying up later and getting up earlier… my window of opportunity for creating in the quiet is very narrow..lol.
Will be back with some photos soon,
Kiss Noises
