Gathering Supplies, pretty rosey fabrics, ribbon and lace.

I don't know about you but it always takes me a little while to get my creative self into gear.

Often I need a new challenge or to play in a different medium to get me being productive again. It has taken me a while longer this year as my new studio space is quite hot in the afternoon and that is when I like to potter...plus I must admit I still have crates to unload after we moved, but everything is finally finding a space.

I have been trying really hard to label all my suitcases and boxes to remember what is in them, so I get them down, have a look and then put them back up again...then by the time I have the labels out I have forgotten what was in them.

Of course that could be if I was distracted by something pretty along the way..that tends to happen a lot arund here.

My first creative task for the year has been gathering new supplies, a girl needs some new supplies to play with.

I have some beautiful fabric from Fairies in my Garden at Shorncliffe, my favourite pinks and roses and oh so many choices, they also have a wonderful range of Tilda fabric too, which I adore.

I also managed to find some sequins that I have been searching high and low for, little tiny tiny clear faceted sequins ( a bit hard to photograph) and I found some and they are divine so I can't wait to embellish something with lots of little sparkles.

A trip to Spotlight also restocked my fabric for my Burnt Blossoms and I have been busy ripping, cutting, shaping , burning and gathering lots of lovely coloured fabrics, with different textures so that my brooches continue to be just that little bit different.

I only nearly burnt down they house once, some tuelle I used was incredibly flammable and just waving it near the candle, it caught on fire, big flames and not having the bowl of water beside me that my darling husband insists I have ( whoops, he knows me too well), I dropped in on top of the candle again and madly blew out both the burning fabric and the candle at the same time..no body got hurt, bar the piece of fabric, it really didn't fair well, lol. I won't be using that tuelle in my flowers, lol.

I am up to the stage now of stitching them all together, but I will need a new centre piece for some of them. I have these delicious roses fromSeventh Stone Design. but I need some sparkly jewels to go with my cream and pink and black ones, looks like I need to go gathering a few more supplies, *wink*.
